If you’ve been interested in finding out how and where you appear in LLMs like ChatGPT, you might’ve come across platforms promising that just by pasting in your company’s URL, you’ll find that out, with some scores and charts to support the finding.

Now you know! And now what! The platforms (themselves AI-driven) are good at what machines are good at. They can tell you that your Core Web Vitals need work, that some pages lack schema, or that your brand didn’t appear in last week’s AI responses for whatever prompt set you ask them to check (or they determine should be checked).

It likely won’t know that, for your organization, “What are company X’s values” might be a mission‑critical question, while where your organization is located is immaterial. It also likely won’t notice that the most salient info is hiding two clicks deep on some forgotten page, or that a single, outdated Reddit thread is in the wandering around in the background actively shaping how AI systems talk about you.

The platform/tool might tell you, “Good news, you rank #1 for your brand name,” and mark that box green, and mission accomplished. But, I might look at the same result and notice that the snippet under your link never mentions the one thing you most want people (and machines) to remember about you. How is the platform going to know that?

A platform can see that your FAQ pages aren’t marked up with the correct FAQPage schema. (Come to think of it – are your FAQ pages marked up with the correct schema?) It can’t sit down with you and talk about your brand and business goals, your constraints, or your stakeholders, and decide which questions should be structured and emphasized so that machines finally understand why you’re different – because you are different!  It can count mentions of your name; it can’t tell whether the story those mentions create is one you’d be happy to have repeated back to a board, a journalist, or in an AI summary.

The tools can tell you where the pipes are laid, so to speak, but they don’t and won’t tell you what’s supposed to be flowing through them, or whether anyone on the other end would or should care.

It won’t notice – but I will – when a seemingly minor fix (one well-structured FAQ, one clear meta description, one well-placed citation) has outsize leverage on the conversations you care about.

I have an idea, and it’s free, fast, and easy.

I’ll show you the results of a preliminary AI Visibility Audit that I will do in advance of a quick conversation with you about your company, firm, or organization’s brand and business goals.
